Glass part XVIII: my try at glass :)

Hiya,

Now it was my turn to make some VRay glass, for a 3D incarnation of a tower logo for a customer. Here it is. I hope you like it.

Cheers,

P.S.: The black borders are not part of the splash image. I added that for website-technical purposes.

Looks very real,

Is that lensflare rendered or is it photoshop lensflare ?

Greetings,

Erik

Bedankt Erik!

The lensflare and subtle overall glare were done in Photoshop.

onguard = tower = strong = durability… = glass??

just a design opinion

 Hahahaha! That’s a good one. I had created a brick wall tower first, but they wanted to have a slick and glossy image, so that’s what I gave them.

Looks good 8)

compliments

bye

Anyway the glass can also be solid as a rock too  and at the same time transparent (nothing to hide)

Really nice, Congrats!

Gonçalo

Thanks guys! Much appreciated. And Gonçalo, you’re the VRay settings and materials king, as far as I’m concerned.

Cheerio,

Looks great Metin! Shows how important small fillets/chamfers on edges are. The way they catch the highlights really make the image.

Thanks Torgeir,

I almost forgot to say that I used your material plug-in for the glass. So a big thanks to you too!

You’re right about the chamfers. It makes a big difference when trying to make a 3D object life-like.

M7

Wow, that’s sweeeeeeet! Congrats!

Top marks ol Sport,

regards

Thanks very much for all the very flattering comments guys! Mucho appreciado.

Personally I think at least Maxer’s glass superceeds mine. His glass quality is downright amazing and hyperrealistic.
