Glass problem

I have a scene with glass windows and glass panels infront metall walls with 10 cm distance between them. I have two problems.
First there are dark areas behind glass in shadow areas of the building like the light doesnt reach that area.
I had that problem before in my projects.

Second It seams the antialiasing is low quality on the areas behind glass panels.

Why is that happening and what do I have to change.

what are your settings?
Zoran

Normal settings.

tick refractive GI caustics, Without that “affect shadow” doesnt work and you dont get any light thru your glass

Thanks, this solved the problem. The reason I unchecked this before is that I have lots of splotches around my scene when I use vraylight material.

What about antialiasing in dark areas, any solution for that.

Switch to QMC AA. That might well solve your problem.

Yes sometime I use vlado’s universal qmc settings but it takes too long to render. In 3dsmMax before if I remember correctly you could change antialiasing settings for reflected or refracted objects so I thought maybe the same is here.

Nope.

You dont need to follow the universal settings, just switch your AA from subdivision to QMC.

Did switching the AA work? is there a reason for this Daforce

if you use a vraylight materail as your light source, stick a vraylight with skylight portal ticked in front of it, and this will remove the poor, splotchy light

Not as such.
More of a case of try it and see what happens.
