Im looking for a computer to work on at home can anybody tell what a good setup is for a reasonable price (around the 1200 euro)and what to look for.

Graphics card 8800gts 640 MB will cost approc €360
Think this will do Percy’s Benchmark scene in about 4 mins.
Will come in under €1200

Recently I have been looking for a system for myself and came up with this system:
I know it’s above your budget but when you leave out the OS you will have only about € 1200 euro left…
overclocked i can do the benchmark in 2mins with that cpu.
DrJan the price you have shown for your Q6600 seems very expensive. In late july they drop the price by 50%
FYI 
I don’t think you can get a “good workstation” for 1200 euro…
That configuration was made somewhere in May/June I think, so you’re right on that one
