Hello, I’m getting a different render of what I expect by the GPU preview. I think it’s a setting I am missing somewhere more than a bug? I’m using Vray Next beta and latest Phoenix FD night build. Thanks
Yes, one of the most important reasons the gpu preview can work at real time is that it treats each light as a directional light, so domes, area lights or gi are gonna add up to a different render. In case you need to iterate not on the simulation shape a but the shading, please swith to vray ipr gpu.
Cheers!
Hi Svetlin, thanks but actually I was referring to the smoke volume, see how it’s reduced in the final render, while in the preview is much denser.
Ah, sorry - then it’s the Minimum Visible Opacity option - for the GPU preview it’s always at 0. Try reducing it further (don’t set it to 0 or you will get a much much slower render). Sometimes it has to be as low as one ten-thousandth…
Many thanks, found it and fixed!
Yay! Glad it’s okay now ![]()
