Has anyone used a data recovery company that they can recommend to me?

I am almost certain you can find all your files with Eseus if you do it.
well if the drive doesnt boot then you cant use any software to recover it.

At the company I used to work at, we ones used IBAS in Norway with good result but they are also very expensive.

well during start up it ticks/clicks until the windoze logo appears then nothing happens with it.
Luckily its not my boot drive just a back up
There are *nix based recovery live CDs. Boot from CD, fix the drive, happy joy joy…but clicking sounds pretty severe. I had good experiences with getting a new drive and mounting the damaged one in an external USB case for recovery.

hey jacksc02, I been using Acronis True Image for a few years. it kicks bud! but if your HD has phyical damage, non of these software recovery would help. if you just can’t get into windows for whatever reason, True Image will let you boot into the software and from there, you can backup/restore anything. I usually install another large HD and backup everything to it, then mount the HD on a new system.
fyi, as far as important data/project files, we never store locally, always on the fileserver with tape backup, we use AIT-3 with retrospect, been using many years without problem, save us MANY TIMES!
I can recommend software called - get back data. Worked for me very well.
I punked out after trying several things and just went to a local company… not worth mentioning. It cost too much and I didn’t get back all my stuff.
After my first failure I purchased an online backup service called carbonite (http://carbonite.com)
It’s really cheap and it was excellent when I had to deal with my second hard drive failure. The worst thing about it is the initial backup, that takes a while. I highly recommend it.
