@JohnHolmes , thanks for the report and welcome to our Forum.
So far a dedicated graphics card update for your 3080 should do the trick. Please acquire them directly from the NVIDIA page here and let me know if that doesn’t do that trick.
I got this sorted via Enscape support. It was solved by updating the AMD drivers for the onboard GPU not the Nvida GPU, which I didn’t realize had anything to do the running of enscape.
I have GeForce RTX 2070 Super. I had same problem.. Ray Tracing options were grayed out with DLSS unchecked..
I checked in Device Manager and it was showing that I have best drivers available.. So I didn’t update them at first.. But I did now download driver directly from Nvidia as @Demian_Gutberlet mentioned…
Worked for me..
@tomasz_drgas , glad to hear that - it’s worth mentioning in this case that we always recommend acquiring the latest drivers from either the NVIDIA or AMD homepage directly. Windows more than often unfortunately does not seem to be truthful about the drivers actually being completely up to date.
The video card is made by Nvidia not AMD so you want to get them from Nvidia, do a google search for ‘Nvidia Drivers’ and the 1st link should be the one you want.
thank you @Paul_Russam , I always have the lastest nvidia studio drivers, but as @JohnHolmes stated he resolved the problem by updating the onboard gpu drivers from amd.
the thing is that in the amd-gpu gui theres no update function implemented, it only updates from the myasus application and I dont know hoe they roll out their updates - so it could be that theres a newer version directly from amd and I thought I ask @JohnHolmes from the source he downloaded it.
I once updated directly from amd and my system crashed so I am a bit cautios.
I occasionally run into problems with people with intel CPUs and Nvidia cards with Sketchup/Enscape etc for the same reasons - on laptops the Nvidia card is a render only device, the integrated GPU built into the CPU actually handles the image landing on your monitor and this can occasionally cause issues when there are the normal drivers shenanigans going on.
