Havent installed the new version yet… I want to know if it fixed the issue with Phototextured buildings, where textures would render all wrong.
how its rendered… the roofs also get texture errors

Re: Has the new version fixed the issue with Phototextured Buildings?
No - distorted texures can still not be rendered. Only workaround is to use Make Unique.

which can be really complicated when you have dozens or hundreds of faces… ![]()
Re: Has the new version fixed the issue with Phototextured Buildings?
Might be possible to make a plugin to automate this. …but you’d end up with lots of materials.
Re: Has the new version fixed the issue with Phototextured Buildings?
…which wouldn’t be a major issue if there’d be material groups.
I know it doesn’t fit in here at all AND I’m a Rhino user, but let me outline the idea shortly:
I really wish for material groups where all the material settings can be overridden individually - through applying group layers.
In these group layers one could choose whether material layers are to be overridden by the group settings or just filled if there’s no respective information within the material (e.g. a group reflexion layer applies to all materials without separate relfexion layers vs. all materials in this group receive the same reflexion properties).
The materials aren’t touched, just a read-out of the group variables.

…just for the record…
Re: Has the new version fixed the issue with Phototextured Buildings?
My idea for Material Editor: [Concept] Materials++ | sketchucation
Re: Has the new version fixed the issue with Phototextured Buildings?
Brilliant start!
Do you think there’s a way of implementing this settings override function?
Concerning the plugin, it’d be an easy task to add a line that adds a group for all the face materials it creates afterwards, right?
But what would happen if you change anything on model and/or mapping? --> Prompt to update/recreate all?
Re: Has the new version fixed the issue with Phototextured Buildings?
would it be possible for the plugin to identify ONLY faces where the textures are skewed/distorted?
Re: Has the new version fixed the issue with Phototextured Buildings?
The development of this alternative material editor has halted atm as I’m not finding any way to extract the material thumbnails. Still looking for solutions for this though. I might just continue without texture thumbnails. But atm the main focus is on a Vertex Editor.

Yes.
