HDRI Distributed Rendering Exposure Problem

I believe I have all my maps configured properly on the network. DR works fine when it comes to almost all the materials. But I do notice a difference when rendering images with HDRI. Ones rendered locally show up significantly brighter than ones rendered with Distributive Rendering.

It seems to be finding the maps without a problem as it is imparting some correct shadowing/color. There’s no checkerboard patterns happening as is the case when it has problems trying to find a ‘missing’ hdri map. I’m kinda wondering if it may be resetting the vrayhdri map’s multiplier value back to 1 when the map is sent over the network. Any ideas what could be happening here? Is it a bug?

This sounds like the max default lightsource still being on. This is automatically disabled for DR, but will show up when rendering locally.

Huh. Could possibly be. I didn’t have any lights in the scene. I thought HDRI would supercede default lighting- just like it would with any other light. And I didn’t check anything off. I take it that I need to check off the ‘default lighting’ in the render rollout.

yes, turn it off in the global switches rollout.

you were absolutely correct! doh!!!
