HDRI environment is black

There must be a simple solution for this! As you can see, I have the sun turned on but the environment is completely black?
What am I doing wrong?

You help is greatly appreciated

Dear @ken_levi , hello.

There are some key points here.

  • If you want to use Sun, the texture should be added in Settings > Environment > Background (and be sure that there is a tick in the checkbox), like this
  • please check the Texture Placement section of the Bitmap, like this - it should be mapped properly (depending on your image)
  • You could use V-Ray Dome instead and add the Bitmap there, like this (without adding the image to Settings > Environment > Background)

In general, there should be a connection between the light and the background image you want to use.
When using Sun (Rhino Document Sun or Sun Light), you should use Settings tab as described above.
When using V-Ray Dome Light, the image is loaded through the Dome light.
Very important is to pay attention to the Bitmap’s settings and its placement.
