hhm...antialiasing...

Anyone know how to get better antialiasing on the more extreme edges in this image. I used catmull-rom and adaptive at 1,3. which is probably the highest settings Ive ever used.

percy

decrease the treshold increase, the samples, I think nothing more can ve done. sometimes I use even higher, like 2-6 or more but its very rare.
try to lower the treshold if you didnt yet, to something like 0.01.

I want to live there… blurry edges and all

if it’s a still, I had really good luck by using Catmul-rom, unchecking “filter maps” in the global switches" rollout…and most important using simple-two-level AA w/ 2/5 and lowering that threshold to 0.05 (I think the default is 0.1) …this setup gave me really crisp results w/ bump maps grids in floor or wall tiles…

hope this helps,

paul.

PS: this WILL increase your render times quite a bit…but I think it’s worth it…

Render twice as large and resize in PS.

This color palette looks really nice 8)

What does this “Twice as large” and resize in PS trick do?

Isn’t it the same as Fixed rate with 2 subdivisions?
