High irradiance settings ....blotchy result.

Hello again,
Below is a really really unfinished scene of a kitchen and the only reason of this render was to test lighting setup…and…I bumped into this problem.

The kitchen is located in a “loft” flat and is illuminated only by a skylight coming from 2 windows which are not more that 6 meters far, but is hidden behind a little corner…I got the settings very high as you can see on the image below, but still I get these splotches…is there any way how to get rid of them??? I was thinking of adding a little fill light, but I am sure there must be a way how to solve this by using a skylight only.

Can you help me with this please???
Thank in advance

Regards Martin

Hi Martin,

Fermí

and also better use skylight portals or vraylights for the window. just the skylight isn´t enough in most cases…and i think in you scene it will be the main cause…

Ill try that thanks…

yeah. use portal lights, it will give better samples so you can lower some of those settings especially the sub-div on the secondary bounces.
