How do I Setup a license as Network/Floating License?

I’d like to setup my one license as a floating license. Can this be done and if not are there plans to have this option and when is the ETA?

Thanks,

Re: How do I Setup a license as Network/Floating License?

I thought I had answered by own question. In the download section I had originally downloaded what I though to be the file (V1). No readme attached :-[. Went back to the downloads and noticed a readme file for another build. Which is the latest release? :(On that release the read me discusses floating license and how to set that up. It says to go to the custom install and select to Install the Floating License Manager…this just doesn’t exists!!! Why is this so hard to do. Am I the only one wanted to set this up on a network? HELP!!!

You’ll need the one that says RC1…you just probably have the release version which doesn’t have network stuff.

Dalomar,
As I previously mention, that is what I did. I downloaded and installed VRayForSketchUp_2008_02_12_1428.exe and then went back to install only the Floating manager that was supposedly under the Custom option. It is not there.

There’s no option to install it or not. All of the licensing is getting handled through our license manager, whether its a floating license or a standard nodelock license, so that HAS to be installed.

In case you can’t find the read me (which should be there with the install, plus it should be in the download section as well (I can see it)), here’s the instructions.

Dalomar,
This is what I discoverd. When you install Vray, whether custom or complete, floating manager automatically gets installed. Period. Therefore, your step 1 in the readme file/instructions is mute. I fear that a lot of users may be asking you this question because I didn’t go past step 1 because I didn’t see the option under the Custom install and just assumed it was not there but in reality going to step 2 and beyond it what needs to be done.

Thanks,
