How many 3dsmax licenses for DR?

Do I need a separate license of max for each node to use DR?
Should max GUI be installed on all of them or can it be backburner?
I haven’t found much info on this subject in manual.

I know I can populate a renderfarm with backburner using one license of max and one license of vray, but what with DR?

You get 10 DR lic per VRay seat

Max does not need to be authorized to act as a DR slave, backburner, VRay and Max all need to be installed on the slaves.

the 10 dr licences are per cpu or machine?

Machine. # of cpu’s or cores doesn’t matter.
