How many Phoenix FD licenses required?

If I want to be able to render a Maya scene file containing Phoenix FD sims on two machines simultaneously, do I need an additional render node for V-Ray AND a simulation license? Or do I only need one Phoenix FD license if the simulation has already been run, and I’m merely importing a cache and wanting to render that cached sim on two machines simultaneously?

Secondly, if I were to get an additional Phoenix FD simulation license, is there a rental option? I only see a “New” price for it ($210) and no “Rental” price on the website.

Hello,

The rendering of Phoenix is free - this means that it doesn’t require additional Phoenix licenses.
So if you want to render volumes on two machines you only need two V-Ray licenses.

As for the rental options it’s best to send an email to sales@chaosgroup.com and they will help you out.
