HI all ,I had been struggle to create a nice down light “flare”(not sure what it call.sorry for my poor english) for a night scene a while back ago… but i don’t like the result i create..had already try using the max build in post render effect & also doing it in using photoshop.. but no luck..the result sucks..
I kinda saw someone did a very good job to recreate it but I can’t seems remember where i saw it…if they did it in photoshop?are there any good tools to do this?i mean filters?plugs?so guys pls help me out with this…thanks in advance..
This was done in early last year. I could probably do alot better job now. what I did was put a layer of black atop my image and used the photoshop flare tool. Then set layer to additive or something like that and adjusted from there.
hey nice effect you have there:) any filters apply?..actually i’m trying to do a “star shape” of the flare..you know sometime we took picture from difference angle they will appear randomly in the photo(as i show in the sample image).
Btw love the render you got there..nice & clean, the reflection glossiness on the floor is just perfect
Do a search for knoll light - it’s probably the most famous lens flare generator out there. Definitely do this in post and no where else - you dont want to do a huge vray render with GI, stick a flare on and then realise that your flare is a little too much.
joconnell, thanks for the tips for the filter. i’ll look for it ..agree with you..that’s the reason why i did’t turn back to max post efect after i’ve try it..not flexible enought..
Morbid Angel, cebas final flares, okay i’ll take note for that..
