How to render only specific object?

Hi there!

I have these objects rendered, at a very high resolution (18432 x 1536). After I rendered them, I want to change the cube`s colour. Is there a way to render only the cube and not the whole image, so I don`t have to wait again for 10 hours? And i`m not talking about Region render.

Hi,
You could use Material ID from the render element tab in the option, then you could use it in Photoshop for selection.

And how do it set this up, so that when i press Render, vray will only render that MaterialId?

Hi Isarescu,

There is currently no easy way to do that in V-Ray for SketchUp (except for the render region).
The V-Ray tool that will allow you to do it is called the ‘Render Mask’. You can read more about that on the V-Ray for Maya/Max documentation page:

The Render Mask is something we can add in V-Ray for SketchUp in the future if there is demand for it.

You can also hide all the objects you don’t want rendered in Sketchup and then render?

Big +1 for Render Mask!! Did not know this was possible. If implemented, this would help speed up edits to images in post.

+100 for Render Mask. This would be so so useful for me… I’m constantly needing to update an object or area that could easily benefit from this feature.

Render mask would be helpful, In my case there are many times that the clients just want change a single material…

It is currently on our to-do list for V-Ray Next for SketchUp. Will most likely be part of the initial release.
