How to use Alpha Channel

Hello all,

first time posting so please go easy. I have been using revit for a while now and when i create images from Enscape i would like to add my own background.

What is the process from exporting alpha channel to me inserting a photo i have taken from my phone for the background. I have tried to read up as much as possible but cannot seem to find a clear process from start to finish. I am not a photo shop user but i am experienced in Revit.

Thanks in advance

  1. Export the image with an alpha channel for the background (so the background is blank).
  2. Open the image in your favorite photo editing tool (I like Pixelmator Pro https://www.pixelmator.com/pro/)
  3. Drag your background into the same photo editing session as the exported image.
  4. Adjust the order of the layers so that your background is behind the export of image.

Here’s an example: https://youtu.be/M4Vpuz50js0?t=309

Thank you.

Thats exactly what i was after.

Thanks for taking the time out to help.

Only downside i have just noticed is that Pixelmator is for MACs.

GIMP also works rather well and is usually recommended as one of the best free windows image editing softwares, otherwise, you may also look into Paint.NET or even the built Windows Paint 3D which is not too bad for simple procedures.
