I wonder if it is possible to use material keywords on revit as we use it in sketchup, this is a very quick option to use materials, but i can not find keyword place to work it in Revit, thanks.
Hey @LiTeL , Enscape for Revit uses the Appearance parameters provided, allow me to refer you to our dedicated Revit materials knowledgebase entry for an overview of all the supported parameters:
https://enscape3d.com/knowledgebase/revit-material-parameters/
Only the keyword “grass” is supported, since Revit doesn’t have a grass material implemented themselves. We use the Appearance parameters of Revit since this allows the customer to more easily fine-tune the material even further without relying on keywords which would provide you with a material which isn’t customizable. If you’re not satisfied with this system, please be so very kind as to give us some feedback as to why. ![]()
Hello Demian, first of all, thank you for your reply. I am satisfied with the trial of Enscape, I think is the best soft I’ve ever tried, really
but I think would be helpful keywords also works with Revit, sometime we use basic materials just for esthetic, and would be great to put a texture, a keyword, and getting that quick results as ketchup. But Iam not an expert user, maybe I am wrong, anyway, more options are always better for me.
Hey @LiTeL , thank you for further explanation. That might get a bit confusing to some. For example, a user added some “Self Illumination” through the Material Appearance tab in Revit, but also (accidentally) adds “emissive” as keyword into the name of the material, just because he might like to call it “emissive material” for example, then we have to decide if we either take the keyword into account, or use the material settings.
In any case, if you still like to see this implemented, then I’ll file it as a feature request. ![]()
I think that Sketchup feature is a perfect feature for quick work on rendering visualizations, even I will use Sketchup for quick renders (facades, etc.) because of that, and Revit for the complete project development.
I can understand what you say, but, what about using any kind of tags for escape keywords?
F.e.: /emissive/ or emissive#, [emissive], something like this? ![]()
Thanks for your replies.
Hey @LiTeL , I’ve filed your wish as a feature request accordingly.
Thank you for your further feedback.
No man, thanks to you ![]()
I would advocate for enabling keywords in revit that enable Enscape effects that we cannot set through revit’s material UI.
Examples are windspeed/direction for water, grass height etc.
