i see… we don´t need our textures to be “correct” in any way other that we want them to render or how they are shown to us in our adobe apps with the correct profile… and they do, so we are lucky to not have to care about more than that!
and we often model the looks of textures after reference images from the real world (of course those displayed in their respective correct color profile which is often prophoto or adobergb or srgb for images from the web) so we have to shift the colors of our available textures very often anyways despite them being shown correctly as they were intended to look.
