Hello Chaosgroup,
using V-Ray for Maya 2.4 (the official release) it seems that the soft shadow function for IES lights doesn’t work anymore.
Can you please check?

Hi,
It seems your .ies file doesn’t contain information about the light shape. When using soft shadows, the light shape is defaulted to the .ies file contents in the Light Shape roll-out (from IES file). In this case, vray will consider the light shadows as coming from a point light. You can also change the shape to another one to have a different shadow effect with soft shadows. Yes, everything is fine. We used another IES-Profile and the client is quite happy with the result!
By the way: Any news concerning the 3.0 version for Maya? As we use BF quite a lot, we are very excited about the speed gain!
