images for sketch up that works like rpc..

i’m new to the forum but im wondering if there is a way in sketch up, where in you could insert images of real people, trees, etc, in your drawing..same way as how RPC works for 3dsmax works..thanks

Re: images for sketch up that works like rpc..

You can import images into Sketchup by going to File-Import and choosing which jpeg/png you would like to import. It makes a plane and applies the texture to it. Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but thats the first thing that comes to my mind.

Re: images for sketch up that works like rpc..

I tried that, but whenever i apply shadows on it, the shadow is a plane..what i’m after is that whatever png or image you place in the sketch up drawing, like a tree, the shadow should follow with the shape of the image, not a plane..moreso, the image i inserted in the drawing does not show up whenever i render it in vray…is there a script or plugin which could convert images to an skp file.??..thnks for the information…
