Was wondering if anyone here uses imagesynth from www.luxology.com and if so is worth getting.

I got it free with Modo 201… and yes it works great. One of the great things is creating seamless tiling textures out of things like bricks and concrete block - you don’t have to offset in Photoshop and spend all that time cleaning everything up. There’s a newer tutorial on the Luxology website that shows how to do this:
