Imported motion adding extra translation

I’ve tried importing motion from actor core and I can get it to import the motion just fine but when I actually try to use it in a crowd system I get extra translation added that makes the character slide around its origin point. This happens no matter if export the animation from actor core with “in place” selected or not. Are there any tools in Anima to counter this motion? Thanks

Hello vance3d,

When using models from Actor Core, the export format that works best with Anima is the Maya template they offer. Also, the animations in Anima should always include translation in their motion, so not using “in place” should work best.

About the extra translation you are detecting, that could be caused by multiple factors, so we can’t know for sure without having access to that particular motion file.

If you prefer not sharing that motion file here in the forum, please, contanct us through the Chaos Help Center and feel free to share more details with us through that more private channel.

Thanks, I’ll try the maya format without the “in place” mode checked and see what the results are. Since this is a purchased motion file I don’t know if I can post it here but I might be able to send it to the help center if the suggestions don’t work out.

its looks like a scale problem. I was importing the clip at inches and when I switched to cm it seems to have stabilized it.

Hello Vance3D,

Thanks for the update, I’m glad you could find the issue.

I just answered your ticket. I could not find any issue when I tried it. Now it makes sense because I always work in cm. All clear now.
