Hey Guys,
I downloaded some IES Lighting files and they seem to work fine when my units are set to inches…unfortunately I work in millimetres and when I render the lighting is way too bright, is there a way to fix this???

Re: Inches or Millimetres
You’re saying that a 100 sq ft room is lit differently than a room that is 9.3 sq meters?
Re: Inches or Millimetres
-sigh- yup, seems that is the case…
Re: Inches or Millimetres
Hey Devin,
No sorry maybe I am explaining this wrong, I am doing a simple lighting test using IES Lights, when my units are set to inches and I render it works fine as shown in the image below.
But if I change my units to millimetres the render is completely white, I can’t see anything.
Any thoughts on this…
Re: Inches or Millimetres
I made some test about this issue and I get the same result as David. I also made a test in 3DS max to see if the units affect the scale factor of the lights, and I always get the same illumination no matter of the units (3DS Max). In V-Ray for SU I get more illumination with IES light, but I get the same illumination with rectangular light and omni ligth. So could be an issue with IES light only.
Re: Inches or Millimetres
… a 100 sq ft room is about 9.3 sq meters, we’re all saying the same thing. I confirmed the bug before replying with > -sigh- yup, seems that is the case…
I already have a test scene and a bug report made. Thanks for pointing this out.

Sorry Devin I didn’t realise what your second post meant…![]()
Can the strength of the ies light be reduced?
Thanks
