Hi,
Can we have an option to include or exclude objects from HDRI light that I have assigned in the scene environment section?
We already have a feature request like this logged. If you could provide us with a use case when exactly something like this would be useful, that would be perfect.
(Internal ID=436869814)
It can be used in different places, what I mean is a function like Vray dome light that you have options like a normal light.
for example, I want HDRI lighting for only one object in some projects and use artificial light for the rest of the objects.
I also often wish I had this feature available. It would be useful in an instance where you have an interior scene with a backdrop image for the view out of the windows, and you want the backdrop image to be excluded from environment lighting and be lit from a light of its own.
any news on this?
Good News
I tested this feature and I am very excited because I can remove HDRI light for a product and get my results in one render frame without combining two renders.
Is it possible to exclude specific objects from specific HDRI if we using multimap?
for example: We have 2 HDRI in multimap, can we have an option to exclude one object from HDRI 1 and object 2 from HDRI 2?
Currently its not possible but I have logged this as a feature request

Hi,
I think what you are after to (even though I don’t know the details), shall be more conveniently achieved by CoronaCamera - it has object include exclude and already has per-camera environment overrides.
The feature request makes sense, but it makes the functionality a bit condensed and also tricky to setup and use.
Since this has recent discussion, added an entry onto the Ideas Portal where this can be tracked going forward. https://chaos.aha.io/ideas/ideas/CMAX-I-34
