I indeed used VRayFur for the ‘feathers’ and to be honest I created it so fast that I didn’t even notice that the background doesn’t match. I used a spherical HDRI map from HDRIbase and figured that if I don’t rotate anything, the environment should match the 3D scene’s orientation.
But what the heck, it’s a wacky cartoon scene anyway. With eyes that are floating I can get away with this minor deficiency as well I guess.
