irradiance & light cache

Hallo

Could anybody give me advice how much I can increase resolution using irradiance and light cache map. I mean first render will be lets say.. 1000x2000 pix then after render its done I swith to load from file (irradiancemap and lightcache). And here is the guestion becasue light was already calculated can I increase resolution 100% to 2000x4000 pix or only 50% to avoid looseing to much on quality.

best regards

It depends on what your original settings were for the irradiance map, but in most cases it will be fine.

So…

It mean that anytime I duble the resolution I have to decrest irradiance map?

res.

1000x1000 pix irradiance min:-3 max: 0
2000x2000 pix irradiance min -4 max: -1
4000x4000 pix irradiance min -5 max -2

or I misunderstanding…

Last question, do I have to reduce irradiance when I am incrist resolution? or I can leave it as it was.

Best regards
