hi all,
i’m trying to render a sequence using a pre-cached irradiance map. i rendered the irradiance map with the lightcache baked in also but my problem is the final render itself is taking way longer to render with the cached irradiance map than less. has anyone experienced this and is there a work-around?

Which V-Ray version is this?
Best regards,

vray 1.5
i used this tutorial - Chaos: Industry-leading design and visualization software
in the gi baking part, does the lightcache information actually bake in to the iir maps?

The light cache is used to calculate the irradiance map, yes. You can try decreasing the number of interpolation frames to 1 or 2 and see if it helps with the speed. Are there any proxies in the scene as well?

yes, there are a lot of heavy tree and foliage proxies in the scene. i have the interpolation set to i or 2 but still the render takes a very long time. does type of gi cache use more memory than usual?
