Is Vray 1.45.xxx optimised for XP rather than for Win 2000

Hi !
I’ve 3 computers (bi opteron,bi athlon, mono athlon)2 have xp and one has Win 2000 sp3.

I’ve noticed in DR mode that Vray worked better with XP than Win 2000 SP3.
I wanted to know if I was right or if there is something to do with Win 2000 in order to make it work better.
Under win 2000, the bi athlon 1800 cpu work is unstable, it doesn’t work at 100% all the time.
Well, it has few memory.Nevertheless, the mono processor with the same amount of ram but with Xp works at 100% for the same scene.

The bi opteron works fine with Vray and XP.

Any idea ?

VRay is not specifically optimized for any particular Windows version or processor type; in DR mode, a processor must wait for all the network communication (receiving and sending render data) which may explain why the cpus are not at 100%.

I suppose the configuration of the network is important in that case.

My connection is like that:
Client ---> server mono cpu ---> Bi athlon.

Maybe it would be better if I did like that

… >--> Server mono cpu
Client--->
…>--> Server Bi athlon.

I will have to test it
