I’ve been rendering on my computer for less than a year and I’m now trying to use the Chaos Cloud rendering to speed up this process.
I’m having issues as nothing seems to happen when I click the Cloud rendering button in V-ray within Sketchup. Currently all that occurs is that when this is clicked, Sketchup tells me the model has been exported (bottom left corner of the window) a tab opens on my Browser showing an address of Localhost:XXXXX. This window has a progress bar that doesn’t move, which if left then asks for me to login again for inactivity and issues this info open login_exit.html: file does not exist.

Logging in to Chaos Cloud shows the created project folder I made when logging in, but nothing regarding an exported vrayscene, scene analysis or a render.

I’ve followed the tutorials on the website, installed the Client App, created a project on my account and purchased 100 credits (apparently my free 20 credits have expired?).

I’ve read the submitting a render support page, but I don’t understand what’s not fitting together to allow the scene to be analysed and sent to the cloud, the webpages make it seem as all I have to do its download the Client App, sign in to the cloud, press submit and it works. My experience is anything but.

Can someone please support me?

Sorry about the issues with using Chaos Cloud! Can you please share with us the logs of the Chaos Cloud client app? You can share them in a direct message here in the forum or through a support ticket. The logs are located in this folder on MacOS: ~/.ChaosGroup/vcloud/client/log/

With respect to the Trial credits, indeed they have an expiry period - 30 days. Tomorrow I’ll ask our Customer Experience team to assign you back the 20 trial credits as you haven’t had the chance to use any of them.

Are you sure you’ve search the correct directory? It must be in ~/.ChaosGroup/vcloud (with a “v” in “vcloud”). Not ~/.ChaosGroup/cloud.

It doesn’t have to be exactly like it but similar. I am asking since the logs make me think there may be something blocking you from opening this URL. An antivirus software, or company proxy or anything else. The Cloud software _should_ work regardless but I am curious nevertheless.

Yes I can see this, it looks the same.

It’s my own computer, so I don’t have any administration restrictions applied, also I don’t have any active antivirus software.

Do you, by any chance, have a web proxy set when using the Chaos Cloud Client application? It may be global on your OS or one set for it specifically in the “%APPDATA%/Chaos Group/vcloud/client/vcloud.json” file.

I did some additional digging and it seems that almost certainly there is something that prevents the Chaos Cloud Client running on your machine from connecting to the Chaos Cloud servers. But on the other hand your browser has no problems connecting (you can log in with your user at https://cloud.chaos.com, right?). So I am suspecting some misconfiguration. And barring any antivirus software or company firewall since this is your own machine I could think of only the proxy configuration which one could do while installing the Chaos Cloud Client. This configuration is stored in the file I mentioned above. If no proxy is set it would have empty values for “webProxy”, “webProxyUser” and “webProxyPass”.

​I can login into my Chaos account, as mentioned previously I can see my credits, and also have created a couple of projects in anticipation.

I have uploaded two screengrabs to show my proxy settings and my firewall settings.

I just thought of something. Could you show me your “DNS” tab in the network settings? What’s happening is also consistent with a scenario where your browser uses a well working DNS server but the Chaos Cloud Client somehow uses one which resolves cloud.chaos.com to something wrong.
