Its been awhile (wip) updated

Hi guys…i would like some comments before i hand this to the client. Thanks.

ceiling looks a bit too grainy and there is a UFO in the window!

the boxs either side of foreground chairs look a bit bumpy

nice lighting though I think it looks good! (just those few little things)

BTW: do you have a shadowline at the base of your walls?

throw in a couple of cushions.

Hey, nice render! Though I think there is some space for improvement.

The background image shows a clear sky, sunny weather, while the light penetrating into the room is rather diffuse. Try lowering the Vray lights multiplier and raising the direct light’s one. Also, adjust the color mapping to more drastic parameters in order to brighten the interior and darken the outdoor (exponential works great for that).

Again, nice work. Keep it up.

Nenad

yeah looking ok… you seem to to have loads of light at the front and known at the back … tip : decrease your vray light… then add another about 2 metres away from but make this a sphere vray light … multiplyer @ around 0.2 and tick no decay… this will get a lot of light into the scene without blowing out the window wall..

really?

nice tip…gonna try it.

Give me 1/2 an hour and i’ll show you..

ok this is a little set-up …

Screen grab

Sphere light settings… i increased the sphere to get the light through the little window, but i think this demostrates how well it works and doesnt blow out the window wall.

Thanks Natty
So works better a sphere vraylight than a plane one, as second light with no decay.
Is it too much if i beg you to post a variant with plane light instead of this sphere? Just to see the difference.

If it is not too much

yeah …will do ..

but heres how the sphere light works … with light going in a more natural directions..

Natty, is your planar light in front of the window? Or outside. If inside, why?

Its inside… well i dont see any reason to put it outside… basically im faking it  … i normally use 3 vray lights at each window…

Here’s how…
But this is with Plane vray light’s .. im using Sphere’s now due to better results..

and the result…

great tip w/ the sphere light outside, natty :!:

I’ll definatly try that on my next interior…thanks a bunch for sharing so much, man.

paul.

yeah, thanks, i’ll have to try that ou

Great Tip!!! It couldn’t have been timed better for me.

Thanks

natty,

nice rendering and tut example.

what is your color mapping setup?

also, what is the rendering times for such an image…

I have done several scenes like this, but with such light multipliers my scene gets completely washed out.

Thanks,

Arkitec

To all of you, thank you…especially you nat. ill give the spheare light a go.

Natty, do those settings make a difference when not working in metric? They tend to blow way out for me

Updated…thanks guys..

Still looking Blown out Reza …what are your colour mapping settings … ?

@ Dynedain… yeah im working in Metric
