I just installed Viz2007 and the maps are not working. I am using 1.47.0380. Is this the correct version to use ? I thought I read here that it was. Any help needed badly.
Thanks,
Mike
It seems that only the maps in the default directory are missing during render. Very strange.
edit: actually, all maps seem to do this sometimes.
is it that the Viz06 problem continues into Viz07?
i better stick with Viz05 as long as i can, or go straight for Max!!
I also cant get the spawner to open on the other machines.
I created a directory called “network”…still no luck. ![]()
i think you have to uninstall backburner3 and install burner2.XX that come with viz2006, to make DR work , about the textures issue is like i said in other post , i only have problems in the first day i install viz2007.
Have you tried using standard materials instead of vray materials?
Standard mats work fine. But I must use Vray mats.
Ill try the backburner thing. I open the spawner and within 1 second its gone. I have to get this DR going.
Thanks for the replies. ![]()
To get DR working, you can see this topic:

ALso, I believe someone mentioned that there is no Network folder in the root folder of Autodesk VIZ 2007 by default, so you’ll need to create it.
Best regards,
Vlado
Thanks Vlado ! I dont know how I missed that thread.
Your quick responce is again appreciated. Chaosgroup certainly

Still no luck. ![]()
Ok, so the spawner still cannot get VIZ stable and running? If you look at the VIZ log file, does it say anything useful?
Best regards,
Vlado
did you create the network folder in all server´s??
Maybe it can be the same problem as with spawner running with 3ds max 8. Instalation of previous version of backburner solved the problem.

The jujubee’s comment. Can be something like that.
Hi again. My spawner log gave this error.

And nothing in the viz log.
I did creat a folder on all machines called “network”. I also created the ini file as described by Vlado. I even tried uninstalling backburner 3 and reinstalling backburner 2.
I basicaly tried everything that I read in the different threads here.
Thanks for taking the time to help, everyone.

Mike
Edit: Unlike the max8 errors, The spawner here never opens and never tries to re open. I can see it in my system tray for mabey 1/2 a second, then it is gone and the log reads as above.
Here is the vizlog…

This all seems so strange (on the part of Autodesk, not Vray).
My understanding was that Viz2007 is the same program as Max8, minus Charactor studio, Reactor, some other plugins, and no sub-object animation. Map errors and other minor bugs dont seem to make any sense.
Anyway, any further help on these matters are appriciated.
Regards,
Mike
Ps… can you upgrade from viz to max without paying the full price ($3,500.00) ?
yes, you can upgrade from viz 2 max without paying the full price. sry, dont know the price in $.
in € its :
max8 full = ~ 4930 €
viz 4/05/06 → max 8 full = ~ 2262 €
Thanks for info, bluescreen2. ![]()
Thanks for the help.
I got it working. I basicaly started over. I followed the tutorial on VizDepot …here http://www.vizdepot.com/modules.php?name=Content&file=viewarticle&id=66
