Key frame editor mode: slider on the time line for particular preview

Hi,

it could be nice to get a slider at the time line so that a camera movement can be checked without to start a whole preview.

Hey @Micha , I can file this wish as a dedicated feature request, but as a little tip, it’s already possible to start a preview from the currently selected keyframe by pressing ‘P’. Let me know if you still like to see the mentioned slider implemented anyway.

@Demian_Gutberlet Good to know, thank you for the hint.

I miss the possibility to move back and for around a position. If I create animation per animation tool Bongo (Rhino) than I used the slider for checking the movement often. A light version could be that the user press the Ctrl-button and click on the little arrow buttons (screenshot). So, the animation could play until the next frame. I would be a good way to check the timing too.

Or the little arrow buttons get some more … . This looks useful or?

Hey @Micha , that is a good idea. What would you prefer?

@Demian_Gutberlet Difficult to say. The button solution could allow to see the movement between the keys and in the right speed. The slider position allow to see the movement over keyframe positions. I think, the slider could be more useful.

But maybe a combination is possible. So, the user could click and hold the left mouse button on the middle button (||) and move the mouse left/right to get a slider control effect. If the LMB is released, than the invisible slider jumps to the next near keyframe position.

@Micha , thanks a lot. A very similar feature request to this has already been filed, so I’ve happily added a upvote and your further feedback to the story. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
