kopje koffie glazenwasser?

What do you think of the coffee material and which one do you prefer? with or without DOF?

Gijs

I prefer the one with DOF…it somehow makes the image a bit “softer”… the first one’s chocolate seems to need a few more blurry samples…very nice still!

prefer the DOF .
the front chocolate seems like floating

Where’s the nude lady?

Marc

Also prefer the dof, but then a bit less than it is now. The coffee looks pretty yellow on the sides, is the cup’s inside also partially yellow?

Are the chocolats modeled or is is some kind of displacement?

To Suiciety: first one chocolate material bump was too large. It is a standard material with mixed highlight. After rendering the first, I changed the material (inlcuding the highlights) and turned on DOF.

Marc: I just searched the net on “kopje koffie glazenwasser” but the only thing I could find was a photo of Harry Vermegen from 1985"

Wouter: Chocolates are modeled - in Rhino

Hi, I think the coffee itself is good, except the highlight looks a little too
yellow (transparent areas on the edges) Looking at my cup, it’s like there’s
a little more red mixed in with it. Although, I don’t really know how the
coffee is brewed where you live =]

Also, it could be even more realistic to add a few tiny bubble clusters around
the edges of the cup coffee interface.

I like the DOF version better! It feels warm.

Escher

small update on the coffee material, no translucency this time. I think it is much better.

Gijs

Yeah much better!

Now add some very soft smoke above the coffee!

With sugar please

Gonçalo

equal in mine…I’m off the sugar

goncalo…where you been?

working for change

Gonçalo

Now add some very soft smoke above the coffee!

How do I do that :?:

Gijs

suurland.com …good tut about smoke there…btw, the coffee looks too yellowish…i think coffee is abit more redish…

that last image is my favourite…it’s got the ‘oil stains’ on the coffee surface…

There’s a thread about smoke going on, check it out for more tutorial links!
