Lagune of Nador

Hi all!

This is our new project - a short animation conceptual design lagoon in Morocco.

Software: 3ds max, vray, toxik, vegas.

Best Regards
Zed

Incredible, what did you use to spread all those proxies around and what were your render times like?

I have no clue how you guys do this amazing stuff. The resources it takes must be amazing!

Thanx guys,

the proxy objects are spread with objectPainter script from soulburn scripts package. Render time is about 1 hour per frame on a dual quadcore xeon machine with 16bg ram. We render it on our renderfarm.

1h hour a frame? or whole thing ?

lukx - per frame of course

Simply amazing!

impressive, really. amazing effort.

That’s a large space to fill with vegetation. Can you post a wireframe image of one of your frames?

Thanks for visiting and comments.

1 hr / frame is excellent benchmark for so much vegetation and so few artifacts (if any at all). mind sharing yr sampling settings?

motion blur!

hot hot stuff.

OMG!! beautiful.. 1hr/fame is worth the output ! i guess it needs a huge infrastructure for doing animation of this kind.. otherwise rendering AV with 1hr/frame is going to take a really long time.. Like Johnszot i will also be interested if you dont mind sharing sampling settings.. curious because your AV is flawless & flicker free inspite having such a complex geometry (vegetation)

lots of patient of object paintings well done

Thanks
Sampler settings in attachments.

i really need to get that 2.0 upgrade…

Awsome!!! all the grass are proxies or do you have displacement on the scene!!! congrats awsome animation!!

wow, great!
Most of all, the scale is overwhelming!

1h/frame is too expensive for me
btw, you have 1-100 set for your dmc subdivs…is it that usefull to set such high values ?

Hi dont think there is any other way to get flicker free animation with so many minute 3d vegetation without high dmc subdivision. 1hr per frame must be mostly coz of hi subdivision.. i cant even think of doing this without having renderfarm :frowning:

Hi dont think there is any other way to get flicker free animation with so many minute 3d vegetation without high dmc subdivision

It’s true. It was necessary to apply high values to avoid flickering.
