I brought one of those watercolors looking renders further.
I see some of my AO overlay showing over that mid-ground tree… I’ll have to fix that in post ![]()
I’m glad you did some changes to the background, the horizon line and perspective of the lake were pretty out of whack, making it look as though the water was somehow tilting toward the viewer. This version is much better! I still feel as though the BG could be lowered further still but it’s not a deal breaker.
Same thoughts on BG. I think it needs to be more tilted down. Try aligning the horizon of the BG with the horizon line of your camera. I liked the contrast of the first more than the updated one. A little too much glow imho.
Your pictures usually tend to be a bit ‘dreamy’ but I think you may have a little too much of it on the water.
The water is a photo, but maybe I can tweak it in PS.
Looking pretty awesome Bobby, well done!
I would just slightly color correct the background (or your 3D)
They’re pretty close, but with some extra tweaking you can get it perfect
I agree and was just thinking about that. First thing in the morning… I’ll post an update.[quote=“Morne, username:Morne”]

Is the bg defocused a bit? screen left it seems. I think its throwing the scale of the cg. Otherwise looks good color/lighting wise!
It was the highest resolution lake photo I could find.
Looks great!
I preferred your first version on 6/30, but this last one is nice too.
Personally, I kinda wished I didn’t feel the need to color adjust everything towards gray…starts to loose its happy place.
Latest one looks great. I agree about BG a tad blurry, but still looks okay.
What a strange hammock?! (Never had seen one like that, so far, but looks tree-friendly.)
your birch trees are nice, but if I were picking trees for close around my house, it would definitely not be birch. They are a constant mess year round, and if there is any type of icing, they can bend down to the ground.
Anyway, that’s not really a rendering CC…
I think in terms of composition, I would play the fg trees darker, not so bright, so it does not take away from the focus of the house. Another thing to consider in photography you do get some color spill in the lens from brights, something you can play up also around the edge of the roof and the sky.
