Laser Scanned Point Clouds

With the increase of use by many in the construction/architectural/design industries, provided visualisation of Point clouds in the Enscape plugins would be very advantageous. Many other programs have limited point cloud rendering/visulisation capabilities, which would make this product even more popular. I find having a point cloud visible in a VR environment would not only enable clients and companies to better visualise built and natural environments surrounding their project areas but would increase productivity and time consumption trying to build that environment manually in other programs to enable the same effect.

Point clouds and 3d scanner capabilities are ever-increasing in popularity and ever-evolving in visual complexity and user-friendliness

Enscape does pretty well with built environments already, clip below is a quick enscape video export of an OBJ ( 10 mins to export on laptop)

Quick OBJ export

@Lara3D thank you very much for your feedback. I’ve filed your inquiry as a feature request!

How did you create the OBJ and combine it with Enscape.?

We scan the building with a Matterport camera and use the OBJ export for modeling. We also use Matterport for online showcasing final products, as seen in the link below.

I have created an .obj mesh from .e57 point cloud point data. Simplified the mesh in meshlab (100 000 faces) and imported the .obj into RHINO.
