Latest Work - Completed In Big Hurry:)

Hi
Here is my recent works that I completed in 11 days total work time.
I am slow person and I work alone so it is really short time for me to make all modeling, texturing, lighting, renderings in such time.

I would like to hear all your crits and it is nice to hear my mistakes for me so I will not repeat again.
Best wishes and thanks to everyone!

And here are the images

Great Work! Some of the vegitation seems a bit “dry” for the setting (Like it isn’t getting enough water). Maybe thats just the species though.

Woaw !!!
11 days for all that stuff sounds really correct regarding quality !

The aerial shot is superb. The eye levels are pretty good too, but I find the vegetation a bit washed out looking, but maybe that’s the kind of vegetation it is!

Hi!

Great images!

I love Your grass

11 Days

Great work… I could only wish to have eleven days for a project :p. I think it is great regardless of how much time. You couldn’t do better work even if you had all the time in the world

Very nice birdseye, what did you use for foliage?

Thanks for replies and your crits

@glorybound: I didnt understand  Do you mean 11 days is too long time? eheh For me it was fast.

@vandy: I modeled them with Onyx.

Giraffe,

If you don’t mind me asking what was the average render time per still and what was the total poly count? Did you have a crashing problems using ONYX?

11 days is dang fast for all of that done by yourself.

Great work…I like the polygonal triangle curb. My boss was looking over my shoulder while checking it out and he said it was fabulous.

Later

11 days or not, great work!

Very impressive. I agree the vegetation looks a bit dried out though.

@ MHenry,

We use tons of Onyx trees in our scenes and have no crashing problems (at least related to the high poly count) as long as we convert them to VRay Proxies. I am working on a scene with about 1500 trees that are just under 500k each. around 750,000,000 polygons. We do use 64bit Max. The memory usage for max rides right around 3gb for this scene. This can be managed a bit in the dynamic memory settings.

really nice work there…love the soft diffuse filter they sort of have

Absolutely great job giraffe….
I lov all (including you also…..)

Fabulous as always! There are a couple of kerb and footpath issues with the aerial shot, but hardly worth re doing.

I really like those images, specially the birdseye one :stuck_out_tongue:

Wonder if you could share a little bit of you knowledge of your grass, because I like it so much.
I do mine with VrayFur, but it crash my cpu when I want to do more than 2m x 2m area

Thank you so much for replies and crits

@MHenry:
Average render time per image is: 45min-1hr (my pc: amd opteron 265 x2 dual core cpu, 4gb ram)
I dont know how many poly scenes are. Because I used vrayproxy instensively.
Is there a way to know?
As far as I know, Vlado mentioned that this is not possible yet to know number of poly.
I dont have crash problems with onyx trees. I always make them proxy.
With vray proxy you can have large number of poly in your scenes without any problem.
Another thing I make is to minmise size of bitmaps to have more economy of RAM.

@3LP: Grass is just vraydisplacement. Nothing special. But I made re-touch- color-correction with PS.
I think vrayfur is a great solution but this is so big and large area and our camera is top and far. So I believe it is expensive to use vrayfır for such shot. Maybe for a close-up, where camera is more close to grass…

tct70: thanks for pointing out.

@ Giraffe and jonahhawk Thanks for the info! I’m still on a 32 bit platform (hopefully moving to 64 bit soon). I need to practice with VRAY proxies and ONYX. Thanks for the inspiration Giraffe.
