Latest work

Just finished this one up for a day spa/resort. The blurry refractions sure slowed down rendering times, as well as the displacement in the carpet in the 2nd image. Done with Viz 2005 and 1.46.15. No crashes! I had a lot of help with furniture modeling too.

Nice stuff Tim!

Is that a funky silk curtain material?

I really like the bedroom. Too bad the overhead makes the space look small.

Thanks Randy. I think the silky material you are talking about is the blurry transparent material right? Thats actually a plex panel that has these strands of bamboo shoots sandwiched in the middle. I think its made by 3Form.

They look really great allot of good work everywhere, especially with the variety of lighting. Only big thing is that the background dosn’t do it justice and lighting looks to be 180 off.

Yeah you’re right! The background photo was nice to begin with, but from everyone’s comments so far, I think maybe I blew out the colors too much, since I was going for more of a realistically exposed background instead of just dropping in the photo.

Maybe it was just a bad photo to start with but what techniques did you use to adjust it? THe colors aren’t so bad other than a little too much green. Maybe try starting with color balance and then curves in Photoshop. But do you see what I’m talking about by 180 off? The sun is coming through your window yet it’s shining on the visible face of that orange rock to the left.
