This will be difficult to debug without a Laubwerk plants licence. I’m just wondering - could you do steps 1 and 2 and then save the scene? And if you load the scene, does it crash after doing steps 3 and 4? If that’s the case, you could easily send us the saved plant and we could have a look at the scene and find out what is the cause of the crashing.
Just repeating the last message - if the crash is still happening and if someone can export a crashing Laubwerk plant for us (and maybe send it privately to prevent licencing issues), we’ll be able to fix this.

It happens to me too… but not if i remove the normal tag before creating the proxy. Then it works.
I tried it with the palm tree that comes with the free kit.
But i get some weird results on the leafs but i think that has been mentioned in another thread.

have you just tried to use cinema 4d instance ? at least works in r19 when using any polygonal trees. Also try to convert plant into polygon object first
