Layered material only gives the base material ID with CMask.

Hello!

Apologies if this has already been discussed, I didn’t find anything through search.

If you use a layered material using masks only the base materials ID appears in the CMash element. This is actually quite useful if you’re using it to create a material with different glossiness settings but I would expect it to split the ID’s using the masks. I hope this makes sense.

The original post is quite old, so please forgive me if I missed any progress on this issue:

I’m using Corona 4 on 3dsmax 2016 and I am seeing this problem. Is this bug solved? Or is there a workaround?

edit: came here via the search and did not notice this was under “Resolved bugs” But, is it resolved?

We have this logged as a “dealbreaker”, so we will attempt to fix it ASAP.
It is a duplicate of various other reports - that’s why it’s moved to “resolved”. It does not mean that the fix is actually implemented.
