License Server on Synology NAS

Hy Guys!

I am planning on replacing my windows based Fileserver with a NAS from Synology. Now my license server is on that machine too.
The NAS has some kind of Linux as OS so theoretically it should be possible to get the license server running or am I wrong?
Has anybody managed to do that?
Any help would be very appreciated!

Hi,

It is possible to run full VMs on some of the larger Synology NAS devices.

I installed a Linux VM on ours, but then realized I didn’t know how to work Linux at all so that was as far as I got.

So I’m sure its possible to install the license server, the only problems I could imagine would be making sure that the VM can see the USB dongle.
