V-Ray already supports the Lighting Analysis render elements for 3ds Max 2009 Design. In addition, there is a VRayIlluminance render element that can help you in this regard.
Yeah. I just started playing with this upon request from the higher ups. Until there’s an equivalent of the light meter for Vray I’ll have to stick with Mental Ray for this. LEED modeling requirements, for interior daylight analysis, require the measurements be taken at 30" off the finished floor for the entire space; the render elements don’t help with this.
The light meter creates its own copy of the V-Ray renderer with its own settings (brute force/brute force), so your actual settings don’t really matter.
