Light cache Proxy/Fur Cpu usage

Why is it when i have a scene with quite alot of proxys or vray fur. and am using qmc/lc The light cache wont use 100 cpu% and it bounces around 50%. I’ve tried it with static and dynamic. and giving the dynamic 3000mb. I have 16gb of ram. so thats not a problem. is there anyway of tweaking this?

Thanks

how many CPU’s does your computer have?
Also make you set the number of threads to the number of cpus

2x dual core so 4 cores. how do i set the cores?

Some parts of the fur are not multithreaded (e.g. the fur generation itself). Loading proxies from disk cannot be multithreaded either.

good to know is this implemented in sp3?

Not for SP3.

fur, displacement and proxies are ALWAYS dynamic geometry.
Hence they have to sit in the dynamic memory pool.
To avoid the constant swapping in and out of ram (not disk swap, mind you), i’d suggest you to raise that dyn. mem. limit a wee bit.
After a while, the cpus will be going at 100% again, as there won’t be anything left to load, and everything will be readily available in ram.
Or so it behaves here
