Light Flow | Interactive Studio Lighting for Corona & 3ds Max

Hey everyone!

Moving a light, adjusting its target, clicking over to the modify panel, typing in a power multiplier, tweaking the spread, doing a test render, and repeating… it completely takes you out of the creative zone.

Light Flow is designed to fix that. It’s a surface-aware, interactive lighting script that lets you “paint” and adjust Corona Lights directly in the viewport.

Here is a quick breakdown of what it does:

Surface-Aware Targeting
Hover your cursor over your geometry, and the light instantly repositions, aligns, and targets the exact surface normal you are looking at.

3 Smart Positioning Modes
Press 1, 2, or 3 to instantly switch between Specular (auto-mirrors your camera angle for perfect highlights), Rim (orbits the light around the target), or Diffuse (aims dead-center).

Drag-to-Adjust Controls
Hold modifier keys and drag your mouse to scale the light, boost the power, push/pull the distance, or adjust the beam spread instantly on the fly.

Custom Hotkeys
You can map custom hotkeys to instantly Add, Adjust, or Duplicate lights without ever touching a menu.

Studio Modifiers
Light Flow features built-in procedural scrims (for realistic soft-edge feathering) and a Visual Browser that connects directly to your own asset libraries. Point it at your folder of softbox HDRIs or shadow-casting Gobos, and simply click a thumbnail to instantly map it to your light.

Light Explorer
A clean, floating UI that lists every Corona light in your scene. Rename them instantly, or use the Isolate toggle to turn off the rest of your scene and evaluate exactly what one specific light is contributing.

A Massive Thank You / Inspiration Credit: I want to explicitly mention that this tool was heavily inspired by the incredible “Light Wrangler” add-on for Blender, created by Leonid Altman. All credit for pioneering this interactive lighting philosophy goes to him! If you also use Blender, you absolutely need to check out his original tool here: https://superhivemarket.com/products/light-wrangler
