i modified the light lister to display vray lights and shadows.
the important vray light parameters are accessible, i skipped the area light stuff, because space was limited and i wanted to avoid using 2 rows.
i also skipped some parameters i don’t use/understand
yes, i modified the light lister coming with max6. i don’t know if it will work with previous versions…
>>do we actually need it??? i mean we can use the light settings in the render menu of max(under “system”)…
hmm, as far as i see you can only change photon related settings there.
the light lister is a great tool to control all lights in a scene. for example you can quickly drag colors from one light to another.
do you have any vray lights in your scene? cause if you dont then you wont be able to see any in the lister. Obvious i know but i thought i should still mention it just in case
Well here is another obvious one. when you created all the vray lights did u have the light lister window open at the time? if so you will need to click the refresh button in the light lister window, after creating the lights.
But if you made the lights then opened the light lister they “should” be there.
.) if you have standard lights with vray shadows, do you see the VRayShadow displayed in the light lister?
.) try loading the Macro_LightList.mcr file manually with Maxscript → Run from the same menu. then start light lister again.
if it works now, the “old” lightlister is loaded from a different location when max starts.
.) do you use a non-english version of max? maybe there is some conflict.
DaForce you are the obvius man
Plastic_ it works now fine The problem is the older version is loaded from max althoug it is in other location.I delete completely and it works very well
I think you should include all options in vraylight. The most important is sampling sudvids and in standar light you should include options for shadows (area, subdivs…)
Good work anyway
