I am currently exploring Enscape using the trial version, and I noticed that I can only place 2 light sources: spot and rectangle. Why are the other 3 missing, is it because I am using the trial version?
Thanks, Babs

This has been an issue since 2020, people have brought it up but Enscape has not touched lighting in years. See some similar posts below. I know some of them are in the Rhino threads but the problem exists in both applications.
RE: Rectangular lights not working anymore
Ouch, that’s a serious bug, thanks for replying! Can spotlights somehow be made to mimic omni lights with an IES profile?
@babs_gsgens , even though there may be some problems or rather technical limitations, especially with rectangle lights only spanning a certain distance which is normal in any real-time application, the threads above seem to not be directly related to this matter. All available lights in SketchUp should still all be available to use even during your trial period - This is how the “Enscape Objects” window should look like using the trial (or paid version):
Does this window look different to you? What happens if you click on any of the lights besides spot and rectangle?
Also, what do you exactly imagine under omni lights?
I found a few different results online so if you could give me a specific example I should be able to assist you further.
Hi Demian,
Thanks for your reply. My window looks different, indeed. Here’s a (HUGE 8o ) screenshot:
The other options are simply not there. I tried clicking in the grey area next to them, hoping it would simply be an icon render issue but there are no other clickable regions.
By omni light, I mean a light source that emits in all directions, rather than just one.
Thanks!
Thank you very much for the reply.
I can see now that you are simply making use of Enscape for Mac, and since that version is still a work in progress, not all lights or other features are available just yet - In this case you are looking for a simple “Sphere” light of course, but unfortunately as of now it’s still being implemented.
You can sign up for our Mac newsletter (at the bottom of the page) to receive further news once we’ve implemented either additional lights, or any other functionalities that are still grayed out / not available.
Ah. Gotcha. Okidoki, I will wait. ![]()
On top of that, even though we usually do not recommend lighting a scene with only self-illuminating materials you can also play around with that as an addition to the existing available light sources. ![]()
