Lights with color environmentfog

Hi,

I am doing some tests with environmentfog and have one question:

I prepare simple scene with white vray light and some objects. Then add fog with blue color. So vray light lights the blue fog, thats fine. But objects influenced by this light is still white. The question is: isnt fog change color of light to a blueish tint and make objects look little bit blueish in real life? If I put light close to objects, it will appear as normal, sure. But I think it looks strange when light go through blue fog and then object is still white. Or am I missing some settings or something?

thank you

This is a case of your eyes adapting to the scene. You “know” that the spheres are grey, therefor you see them as that. But if you would take a color picker on them, you’d see that they are quite blue. I’m sure you’ve seen the attached image before.

If you want them to be more visibly tinted blue, I’d change the color of the light instead.

I know this picture.

I know its little bit blue, but for the fog density I thing its not blue so much. But of course I can do it with light color. Ok, thanks.

My pint is that the blueish color is from fog in front of objects. Lights on object is still white I think.

The fog currently does not have any color for attenuation, only for scattering of light. VRayScatterVolumeMtl has colored absorption though.

Best regards,
Vlado

Not everything is an optical illusion, expect CGI is ALL an illusion!
Good to know that envFog is not filtering light colour…
