Hi, i want to render a yellow liquid inside a transparent bottle but when i render i find there is a sort of bkack noise on the yellow liquid. the yellow liquid is infact an offset of the bottle cut flat on top, so i dont realize why there is this noise. the liquid is not touching the bottle (gap is 0.03mm).
Any solutions?

Have you adjusted the Max Reflections/Refractions under General Switches?

The liquid must intersect the glass, no gap. The intersection can be big, like 1 or more mm.

I’ve never heard of that method. Only way I heard of is offsetting the liquid from the glass ever so slightly to avoid z-fighting.

At the Vray manual page 85 is a good image that explain it too.
If your distance between glass and liquid is to small, than the polygons of the rendermesh can intersect irregular, at some areas can be used the same space or there is a gap. This can cause the noise. If the liquid and the glass full intersect, than Vray can physical correct calculate the situation. Important is, that all liquid surfaces are joined to one object, only than Vray “know” where the liquid/glass start and end.
Sidenote: some times, if a glass object exist as independent surfaces (for example for a window sheet - you could use outer and inner surfaces only) than it helps to convert the NURBS to a mesh and than join this meshes. Not connected meshes can be joined, but not connected NURBS can’t be joined.

Interesting, though I don’t have a V-Ray manual of actual pages, I’ve always refereed to spot3d.
I need to try this out. My immediate expectations was that the refractions would not come out correct when the objects intersect.
