livingRoom (progressive path tracing)

my idea of living room. On the wall, my painting=). Hope you like it.

bitchin! I like it. Nice stereo system. Is that a glass door or a sliding door?

my reference for modeling stereo system was the most expensive samsung stereo system =). door are sliding one.

NICE… please put your lightcache setting and rendertime

Bye. Jose

you really want to know render time  ?
lightchace is standard with 65000 subdivs =)
I canceled render after 3 days=)

3 days haha…great image

very nice render.
3 days!!!

come on…3days…you’ve rendered this with maxwell???

very nice. ppt can do some very reaslistic stuff…pity about the three days rendertime. Just as long as u dont need to change anything…imagine trying to explain to client…

this is why I love to do things in my free time as this one because I don’t have to think what will client say.

Interior looks good  The exterior looks very odd though, it should probably be more over exposed than that, the light outside would be much brighter than the light inside

very true, its a pity ppt is so slow, the quality is very good. Im sure this will change in the future tho.

Too much time for a render… have you tried with irradiance map and very high parameters (min/max rates, subdivisions an samples?.. 3 days…

Nice work
Jose.

truth is I didn’t care too much about render time. i was trying to test what will happen If I set path tracing to highest subdivs and how long it will render without hitting cancel button. But anyway I didn’t find out because I pushed cancel button after 3 days=).

And after 3 days… what PERCENTAGE was DONE alerady… with those
65K subds… ???

You should also give ur HARDWARE Config… just for the record… !

well it’s hard to say how much %. On the rendering bar there was no blue box. hardware was: p4 3ghz, 1gb ram

A tubular render. However, I know its the modern thing to have a big flashy tv screen with surround sound cinema TXT blah blah blah, but it doesn’t half create a dull space. What happens when the TV isn’t on? I would stick my sofa so that it looks out over the water.

and I… would rather go out and sit on the beach when tv is off

hmm, ideal living room. I think considering the view, wouldnt you make the entire wall that faces the water operable glass ie stackers or bifold doors with remote control suncontrol either external louvres or blockout/screen rollerblinds so you can darken the room for viewing tv. plus i reckon the tv is too high up on the wall.
Timber floors always render awesome, nice gi/materials btw, im sure you could get the same result in 4 hours with lower settings.
